What is the exact cost to sponsor the Lily Pad?
The costs will include one-time equipment + monthly access. The exact cost to sponsor a Lily Pad will not be known until a meeting with the location sponsor takes place and a complete site survey is performed by the technology installers. Costs will be determined by the following parameters: availability of data feed, topography of impacted area, number of access points, and general location/visibility of site. Due to the nature of our project and number of projected sites, Lily Pad has been able to offer discounted rates for equipment and monthly access.
Can sponsorship be used as a tax write-off?
Absolutely! Lily Pad is a 100% volunteer project under the umbrella of Give Back Cincinnati’s 501(c)3 status. Your donation & sponsorship of the Lily Pad project can be used as a tax-deductible contribution.
What if I have an existing internet service provider?
Using Lily Pad’s service provider(s) is not a pre-requisite to become a regional Lily Pad. For that reason, a sub-component of Project Lily Pad is to promote other free wireless access points in the city through a Lily Pad “Affiliate” program. If an existing free access point is in place, the operator of that location can become a Lily Pad, receiving presence on the Lily Pad website by simply promoting themselves as a Lily Pad and hanging the Lily Pad signage.
Recognition of and Exposure for Sponsor
Can I put a link or logo on the Lily Pad location page?
Yes. As a location sponsor for Project Lily Pad, your organization will receive free reign (well almost), to place your logo and/or any other trademarked material in the allotted Location Page space. This space will also have an active link to your website. In addition, the links, logos and other trademarked material can be updated quarterly.
Will users see pop-up ads?
No. Outside any general advertisements on the Location Page, Lily Pad will not bombard users with pop-up ads or other online advertising tactics.
Does Lily Pad track or collect user/usage information?
Since the LilyPad authentication process simply involves users agreeing to general usage terms, there is no accurate method to capture or store user information. That said, we will have the ability to monitor the number of unique visitors and general usage statistics. This information can be made available to sponsors upon request.
